SRMS Trust : At a Glance

SRMS Trust, a public charitable Trust, established in the year 1990, is a living tribute to the memokry of veteran freedom fighter, true Gandhian, ex-parliamentarian, ex-minister U.P., Late Shri Ram Murti Ji. The primary objective of the trust is to provide & promote education and research in the field of Engineering & Technology, Medicine, Humanities, Science and Management. The aim of SRMS Trust is the upliftment of the masses:

• by promoting social values – Social Services.
• by promoting technical and professional education – SRMS CET, SRMS WCET, SRMS CET (Lucknow), SRMS IBS.
• by promoting Health & Medical Education – SRMS IMS.

Scholarship

Late Shri Ram Murti Ji was a great source of inspiration for the students particularly the meritorious but economically weak. Therefore the Trust decided to offer financial help to economically weak but meritorious students from the day of its inception.

Initially such help was centred to only 10+2 & undergraduate students i.e. 1990. Later on such such scholarship was extended to the students pursuing professional, technical and medical courses in institutions run by the Trust.

Year 2007 was the turning point when Trust decided to distribute Scholarships of Rupees Two Crore each year to meritorious students of institutions run by the Trust.

Story Writing & Debate

From 1990, the Trust has been organizing debates on various burning topics of National and International interest. Participation includes candidates from both degree and Intermediate levels. To encourage new and up-coming writers the Trust organizes a National level story writing competition anually and awards substantial cash awards to its winners.

Trust arranges to publish the prize winning stories in a book form. First edition of “Kalyug ki Yashodara” has already been published and also the second book “Antheen” is published and distributed across.

Ram Murti Pratibha Alankaran

The trust honours eminent personalities of Uttar Pradesh anually, who have made the Nation proud, with Ram Murti Pratibha Alankaran.

Vocational Training : Samudayik Sewa Yojna

The Trust through its nexus with Engineering & Medical College has started an on-going programme “Samudayik Sewa Yojna” from the year 2007, the Vocational Training to socially and economically backward people of the adjoining areas. 250 young persons having education upto High School or 10+2 are being selected for training in certain crafts like Carpentry, Welding, Turning, Wiring, EPBAX-Operation, X-Ray, Technicians, ECG Technicians and Computer Literacy.

The programme was inaugurated on 10th Feb. 2008 by Prof. Premvrat, Vice Chancellor, Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. All students of Samudayik Sewa Yojna are offered stipend by the trust.

SRMS Janhit Chikitsa Yojna

The programme was inaugurated on 4th July’ 09 with an objective to provide free treatment to the patients who are deprived of the treatment due to financial constraints. Under this scheme Trust has provision for selecting 6 patients every day and provide treatment to these patients in its hospital. During the treatment the patients are provided free of cost medicines, consumables, food, investigation and hospitalization.

Free Pharmacy

The Trust operate 4 pharmacy shops, one in SRMS Rural Health Centre (Town-Dhaura), one in SRMS Urban Health Centre (Rampur Garden, Bareilly) and two in SRMS Hospital. In these pharamcies, Trust provides more than 150 types of generic medicine & consumables (free of cost) to the patients.

Free Medical Services

The Trust oganises three rural medical camps every month in which it provides free medical consultancy, diagnostic services and medicines to the poor and needy people. Eye Camps are organised monthly, in which, 3068 Cataract Surgeries are performed and medical facilities are provided free of cost.

To promote awareness about mother and childcare, the Trust organises various camps in rural and urban areas on a weekly basis in association with state government agencies.

Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS) is now an established leading institution in the field of Medical Care, Education & Research. The Institute has been established by Shri Ram Murti Smarak Trust under the guiding principles of Shri Dev Murti Ji, Managing Trustee and founder, to commemorate and advocate the inspiring principles of his father Late Shri Ram Murti Ji. A man with a vision & A man with a mission. The visionary zeal of the Trust is to serve the society at large by providing not only good professionals but also committed doctors and better citizens who will prove to be an asset to society.

The Institute is established in an area of 30 acres of land in sprawling and pollution free environment. It is located on 13.2 km, Bareilly-Nainital Road, Bareilly. The campus offers healthy atmosphere for teaching, learning, patient care and living.

The Institute has 950 bed multi super speciality teaching Hospital, College campus with modern teaching and learning aids, separate hostels for boys and girls. Residential areas for faculty and staff with 24 hours electicity and water supply and security.

SRMS IMS, offers Undergraduate medical education i.e. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) Programme and Postgraduate (M.D./M.S.) in Pre, Para and Clinical Subjects with an orientation to internationally recognized standards of excellence. The Institute is dedicated to inculcate values and ethics in students to shoulder the responsibility of taking the country to commanding heights.
